Volunteer Position: Transporter

Agency: Child Protective Services 

Population Served: Abused/Neglect in Care

General summary of volunteer project:
Volunteers provide transportation for children in Foster Care to and from parent/child visits. Reimbursement
Provided for travel.

Time commitment: Hours per week: 4 hrs. 
Hours per month: 8 - 16 hrs.

Length of commitment: 6 months

Location: Various locations - Mapsco information will be provided on a pick-up basis.

Specific volunteer responsibilities:

1. Provide safe transportation for children 0 -17 to and from foster care.
2. Soothe and comfort frightened children.
3. Provide a listening ear.

Volunteer qualifications:

1. 21 yeas of age or older.
2. Must have valid driver's license and car insurance.
3. Must pass criminal background check.

Training required:

1. Guidelines.

2. Behaviors of abused/neglected children.

3. Car seat & Safety Training.
