Team Leader - Tutoring Program

volunteer project:
The team leader will serve as a liaison between the volunteer
assigned to the tutoring program and the coordinator of volunteer
services.
Time commitment:
Hours per week: 1
Hours per month: 3
Length of commitment: 1 year
Location: 5415
Maple Ave., #225, Dallas, TX 75235 (Mapsco #31B-M)
Specific volunteer
responsibilities:
- Provide support and
information to volunteers assigned to the mentoring program.
- Maintain routine telephone contact with volunteers to assist in
solving problems and answering questions, etc.
- Maintain required documentation of volunteer participation with
Volunteer Services Office.
Volunteer
qualifications:
- Completion of Texas Youth Commission basic orientation and
certification.
- Willingness to promote and support the tutoring program and the needs
of the facility.
- Exhibit maturity and responsible behavior at all times. Observe and
encourage appropriate personal limitations.
Training required:
(1 ½ - 2 hours)
- Basic orientation and certification process to Texas Youth
Commission.
- In-service training offered on a monthly basis. Classes should be
attended as needed.
- Volunteer may request additional training at any time in specific
areas.
