Volunteer Position: Tattoo Removal Assistant

General summary of volunteer project:
Assist doctors and staff with clients (20 maximum) who are to have
their tattoos removed. Assist clients with completion of forms, transfer
patients from area to area and talk with patients who are nervous about
having the procedure completed. Project is a joint venture with local
volunteer physicians, the Juvenile Department and several other county,
state and non-profit agencies.
Time commitment: Hours per week: 3-4
Hours per month:
12-16
Length of commitment: 3-4 hours once per week, Wednesdays
(12:30 - 3:30 p.m.)

Specific volunteer responsibilities:
- Greet clients.
- Answer questions and assist clients with completing forms.
- Transfer clients and records from area to area.
- Listen to clients' concerns and fears about process.
Volunteer qualifications:
- People skills.
- Patience and reliability.
- Excellent listener.
Training required:
- 7-hour general training provided by Volunteer Coordinator.
- 1-hour specific training provided by institution program or activity
coordinator.
- Yearly in-service training.
Required training provided at:
Held every 6 weeks at Dallas County Juvenile Department, 2600 Lone
Star Drive (Mapsco #43V)
