Volunteer Position: Parent/Child Visit Supervisor

Agency: Child Protective Services 

Population Served: Abused/Neglect in Care

General summary of volunteer project:  Supervise visits between abused and neglected children in foster care and their parents.

Time commitment: Hours per week: 2 hrs. Hours per month: 2- 8 hrs.

Length of commitment: 6 months

Location: 2355 N. Stemmons (Mapsco #44D)

Specific volunteer responsibilities:

1. Watch parent/child visits behind one-way mirror.
2. Record interaction.
3. Report results of visit to caseworker.

Volunteer qualifications:

1. Age 21 or older.
2. Must pass criminal background check.

Training required:

1. Behavior of abused/neglected children.
2. Key factors to be observant of during visits.
