Volunteer Position: Foster/Adoptive Family Recruiter

General summary of volunteer project:
Dallas Adoption
Initiative involves specialized units in PRS, whose main focus is to
bring children to permanency placement in the timeliest manner possible.
Time commitment: Hours per week: 5 - 10
Hours per month:
20 average
Length of commitment: 4 months
Location: Various locations
Specific volunteer responsibilities:
- Assist TDPRS
in recruitment of foster/adoptive homes.
- Help with special events by manning booths and handing out pamphlets.
- Assist families in filling out informational packets.
- Assist with or conduct orientations and answer questions regarding
fostering.
- Help supervise children during photo shoots.
Volunteer qualifications:
- High school
graduate. At least 21 years of age.
- Clear CANRIS/Criminal background check.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally.
Training Required:
- Dependent on the
volunteer assignment, training will be provided by recruitment staff at
TDPRS.
- Training will be individually tailored.
