Volunteer Position: Curfew Contact

General summary of volunteer project:
Call youth in the evening at their homes to check on the probationer to
make sure they are home within the curfew time.
Time commitment: Hours per week: 2-4
Hours per month:
8-16
Length of commitment: 2-4 hours per week, weeknights and
weekends (6 months)
Location: After training, from your home.
Specific volunteer responsibilities:
- Call Probationer 3-7 times a week at home to check if probationer
is at home at the designated curfew time.
- Report back to probation officer next day or if needed, that evening.
Volunteer qualifications:
- Must pass criminal and reference checks.
- Must be flexible, patient and reliable. Strong telephone voice.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Must be willing to work closely Probation Officers and probationers.
Training required:
- 7-hour general training provided by Volunteer Coordinator.
- 1-hour specific training provided by institution program or activity
coordinator.
- Yearly service training.
