General summary of volunteer project:
Child Advocates of
Tarrant County recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who
serve as independent voices in court on behalf of abused and neglected
children’s best interests and in pursuit of safe, permanent homes.

Specific volunteer responsibilities:
- Advocate for the
best interest of abused and neglected children in court.
- Must attend court
hearings and meetings regarding the case and prepare a written court
report.
- In addition,
maintain minimum monthly contact with Child Advocate Supervisor, CPS
Caseworker and Foster Parents, as well as, visit the child on the
case at least twice a month.
Volunteer qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of
age.
- Have a somewhat
flexible schedule.
- Ability to
communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must attend New
Volunteer Orientation.
- Ability to work with
people from all races and backgrounds.
