Volunteer Position: Caseworker Assistant (on call)

Agency: Child Protective Services

Population Served:  Abused/Neglect in Care, Kids in Chaotic Homes

General summary of volunteer project:
Volunteers assist CPS caseworkers at night and on weekends by managing and supervising children brought to the CPS office while caseworkers secure foster placement and complete legal paperwork.

Time commitment: Hours per week: 3 hrs. 
Hours per month: 3 - 12 hrs.

Length of commitment: 6 months

Location: 2355 N. Stemmons (Mapsco #44D)

Specific volunteer responsibilities:

1. Supervise children 0 - 17 years old.
2. Sooth and comfort frightened children.
3. Provide a listening ear.

Volunteer qualifications:

1. Must be 21 or older.
2. Must pass criminal background check.

Training required:

1. On the job training.
