Volunteer Position: Assist with Termination of Parental Rights

Agency: Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program 

Population Served: Kids in Chaotic Homes, Abused/Neglect in Care

General summary of volunteer opportunity:
Assist a child in becoming part of a stable family by assisting in the termination of parental rights in preparation for adoption of a child by an individual or couple.

Time of commitment: Hours Per Week: Open 
Hours Per Month: 10 -15 Hours

Length of commitment: One Case Minimum

Location: Dallas Family Juvenile Courts; Volunteer's Office

Specific volunteer responsibilities:

1. Provide legal representation regarding termination of parental rights and/or with the adoption of a child by an individual or married couple.

Volunteer qualifications:

1. Must be a licensed Texas attorney in good standing.

Training provided:

1. Training offered.
2. Documents, mentoring and support are available from staff attorneys.

Optional training provided at: 1515 Main Street, Dallas 75201(Mapsco #45P) or other site
