Volunteer Position: Assist with Guardianship

Agency: Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program 

Population Served: Abused/Neglect in Care, Kids in Chaotic Homes

General summary of volunteer opportunity:
Assisting a potential guardian in gaining guardianship over a child in need.

Time commitment: Hours per week: Open 
Hours per commitment: 10-20 Hours

Length of commitment: One Case Minimum

Location: Dallas County Probate Courts; Volunteer's Office

Specific volunteer responsibilities:

1. Provide legal representation to an individual in gaining guardianship over a child.

Volunteer qualifications:

1. Must be a licensed Texas attorney in good standing.
2. Must have knowledge of probate law.

Training provided:

1. Training offered.
2. Documents, mentoring and support are available from staff attorneys.

Optional training provided at: 1515 Main Street, Dallas 75201(Mapsco #45P) or other site
